It's That Time of Year Again...

I love, Love, love this time of year; fall is by far my favorite season. Not only do I get a break from the Texas heat but fall also means its time to heat up the kiln! I have been looking for this santa (the last, in a set of three) for over a year, so when I finally saw it I had to pick it up! Last year I painted the other two in the set a red, and artichoke green. This year I wanted a navy santa, so here he is! I really wish you could tell but the "fur" trim is super sparkly and for his coat I dry brushed a lighter blue over the navy so it looks really multi dimensional.

So, I told myself, "self, you need to use up all that ugly tangerine tango you just purchased!" well as you can see, I barely used it lol. Hopefully it will grow on me, I wasn't a big fan of groovy guava at first but now its one of my favs. The bottom picture is to show how I "peeled" the banana.

My new SU order FINALLY showed up yesterday-I ordered it on July 1st! I will say that I love pink pirouette and HATE the tangerine color. SU's new DSP, bella rose, is so beautiful. That's the paper I used for this card. I colored Gardenia gardenthumb with copics.

Bettina Buttercup and Some Fourth of July Picts..

So first my card then onto last night :) I really wanted some "alone craft time" so I decided to lock myself up in the office and do some coloring. The little lady's name is Bettina Buttercream and I colored her in with copics. After I colored her I layerd her onto a polka dotted perfectly pomegranate rectangle, btw all the dsp used for this card is SU's cutie pie line. The card base is a 4.5x4.5 square of bashful blue.

We started off the day by attending the "Arlington's Fourth of July Parade"

After coming home, eating, and swimming we headed off to the fireworks store (we ended up going three times)

This is when we found out that we wasted all that money on sparklers (Kylie was deathly afraid)

So Kylie started her first day at day care today :/ I'm excited for her but I really hate being away from her. In her absences I was able to create this Fourth of July album. I used the Jane Austen font for the cover. The chipboard star is SU's; after I painted it white I used Stampendous' star dust embossing powder to make it shine :) The pattern paper is by rusty pickle.

Today is my mom's best friends birthday-HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICK! My grandma is throwing him a party tonight at 6:30, its outdoors so I hope this Texas heat will have calmed down by then (lol). A few weeks ago I found this card on Kristina's blog and thought-hey that would be the perfect card to recreate for Rick! I just changed the embellishment, sentiment and ribbon.

So this Thursday, Friday and Saturday is the Great American Scrapbook convention here in Arlington. Since I still can't drive-thankfully July is just around the corner-Kyle's Aunt Jan SOOO generously volunteered to drive me to the convention center and watch Kylie while I shop. I wanted to make her a thank you card, for being so "absolutely fabulous". The soft sky base is 4x3.5. the ribbon is papertrey's berry sorbet. I colored "kylie" with copics. The certainly celery scallop is made possible by my nesties.

I wanted this card to be fairly simple because I know for sure its going to end up in the trash, so there is no bells and whistles. The striped paper is by Pebbles Inc. The brocade blue card base measures 5x4.25. The rectangle layers are certainly celery, bordering blue and then the striped paper. My main image is layered onto a barley banana long rectangle nestie.

I made this card with my mom in mind. Purple is her favorite color and I just love perfect plum, certainly celery and soft sky together! I used SU's retired rub-ons for the sentiment and flower vine. I know the picture is dark but it was the only wayI could get the glitter to show up. I used my spica glitter pen on her dress and flower.

So I decided that if I wanted Copics I'd have to order them on my own, so I did! I was so happy when brown showed up at my door, I immediately started stamping and coloring images. I colored 7 images I think? Three of which ended up in the trash. Ok, so to my card. I inked up my cakeabella with Adirondack espresso ink (BTW I know a lot of ya'll love brilliance graphite black BUUUT I HATE it; its just too "juicy"and i hate having to heat set it) since I didn't have to heat set my espresso ink I started to color. For her apron I used R37 and R59. I used BG01 and BG03 for the icing on top andYG69 and G85 for bottom icing. Her slacks are colored with E33 and E35.

I recently discovered that my local stamp store now carries the current line of Elzybells, much to my husbands enjoyment lol! The layout for this card is from Beates WSC and the patterned paper is SU's summer picnic. The main image was water colored only because my husband didn't get my numerous hints for COPIC markers as my mothers day gift; oh wait that's right, he said I was out of my mind! This card is for my mom for mothers day. I can't believe MD is next weekend! This card is a 8.5x4.25 sheet of kraft paper folded in half. The blue bayou strip measures 1.5x4.25 and I used my cuttlebug swirls folder to emboss it. After I embossed it I took my blue bayou ink pad and gently ran it over the swirls. I used my nestabilities for the so saffron strip. The main image was water colored and its matted onto kraft and groovy guava squares. The "stitch" wholes on the bottom are actually rub-ons.

If the layout looks familiar, it's because its from Beate's WSC. These past two weeks have been really hard on me. Why, you ask? I HAVE NO CLUE! I've just been in one of those blah, eh moods. I even let it effect my school work (NOT good at all). A few days ago Kyle and I lost a bid on a house we really wanted :( so it's more time with the in-laws. So enough boohooing and to my card. I really felt like water coloring last night and I wanted to wc flowers so I dug through my closet and found my never touched fun&fast notes set. The bashful blue base is stamped with SU's retired french script bg stamp; that I inked up with bashful blue ink. The DSP is from SU's cutie pie line.

My mom took me to our "local" scrapbooking store to pick a little somethin' somethin'. I say local because the closest one to me is 30 min away lol. So once we arrived at our destination I realized that my wallet was missing from my purse (thanks Kylie). So being the generous mom she is, my mom bought all my stuff for me. She then told me to make her a mini-scrapbook of Kylie to "pay her back". I had an unopened package of last years SU simply scrappin' kit just laying around so I decided to make my mom a "Kylie Spring 2008" mini-book.

OK-so I have to admit, I was one of those parents that let their baby sleep with them-BAD, I know! Well now she refuses to sleep in her own bed. This particular night we put her in her bed after she fell asleep in ours. Of course 30 minutes later she was crying at me. I REALLY need help with this ladies. If you have any good advise PLEASE share it. I've tried putting her in her bed, and laying with her. I've tried putting her in her room and just standing at the door. NOTHING WORKS..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me!

My MIL asked me if I would make a quick (but cute) baby card for her. Since I live with the woman I couldn't say no :) j/k she actually was going to buy one of the VERY first baby girl cards I had made, this was before stamping, cricut, etc. So of course I said "NO, NO I will make you a "fresh" one." I really am on the fence with this card, I "like" it but at the same time I really don't. I wasn't even going to post it but I figured someone out there might find inspiration from it-that's what I'm telling myself so...I used my nestablitlies to make a 4x3.75 Kraft scalloped base square card. I then layered a 3.5x 3.5 square of groovy guava DSP. I then cut a 1.25x3.25 strip of certainly celery. I inked up the swirls and stars stamp with certainly celery craft ink. After stamping it onto my cc strip I added clear embossing powder (then heated it up). The main image is clear embossed too, and then water colored.

A Box for Jaycee

This is for my soon to be new cousin Jaycee. I purchased the box from Papertreyink, these little gems are a little pricey-$4 each and the patterned paper is by Pebblesinc. I painted the lower portion of my egg box making memories blueberry. After the paint had dried I adhered the strip paper using modge podge, followed by the white grosgrain ribbon. It's a beautiful evening here in DFW, so I think for dinner we're going to eat on the back porch. I hope all of you guys have a great evening!!

I think my sister must have started a trend because my cousin Haley just found out that she is going to have a boy too! BTW does this card look familiar? It's for Beate's WSC, not to mention it looks almost exactly like her example-does she EVER make ugly cards?!?! I sure haven't seen one. Now, for the card...The card base is a 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 piece of Basic grey cardstock folded in half. The horizontal strip of certainly celery dsp measures 3 x 4 and was matted onto a 3 1/8 x 4 1/8 strip of whisper white cardstock. I stamped a whole sheet of bashful blue card stock with SU's sweet stars wheel. I then cut a vertical strip of bashful blue to 1 3/4 x 4 1/8 . For the main image I stamped the hippo from Pun Fun onto a 2" square of watercolor paper. After I watercolored him, I added a bashful blue bow.

My order from SU finally showed up!! I think it got caught up in Colorado or something? Anywho their new afternoon tea dsp line is absolutely fabulous! I'll probably end up buying a few more packets before its all said and done :) The card was supposed to be a 5.5 square but somehow I cut it to 5.5x5.25 (oops). I used my nestie's for all the squares and all the dsp is from afternoon tea. I will admit that the flower was a bugger to ink since su doesn't produce markers for all their in colors.

First and foremost I want to say that I cased this punch ensemble from SCS. For reasons unknown to me I FORGOT to add that card to my favorites. If this punch ensemble is your original work PLEASE let me know so that I can give you the credit. The card base is a 10x5 sheet of groovy guava that I folded in half. I cut the river rock polka dot paper to 3 x 4.75. The punches are, in order from bottom to top: key tag; designer label, large oval, and word window. I watercolored the main image using groovy guava for the first flower and rose red and regal rose for the second.

This is my submission for Bree's SBS6 weekly challenge (I'm a wee bit late). I promise Brianne I will do better this week!! My husband finally went back to work and I'm back to taking care of my out of control 2 year old; it's a lot more stressful that I had imagined! Ok now for my project-the tin is just a clear top 4 oz tin that I purchased from specialty bottle. I covered the bottom part of the tin with SU's new ginger blossom paper. For the lid I just stamped the blossom image from the new embrace life set onto ww cardstock and then watercolored the flowers. After the coloring I matted the main image onto a scalloped river rock circle.

ah, you've got to love uplines that have EVERY set SU has ever sold!! I borrowed her embrace life set to make this card. I watercolored the main image again; I know you can't tell in the picture but there's a soft sky "shadow" around the flower. The designer paper is SU's ginger blossom. Even though it looks like the base of my card is a lime color its actually river rock. The next layer is groovy guava.

This card was a real pest to make! My adhesive went everywhere, I was able to get it off the card but not the SU taffeta ribbon :( I'm a horrible "watercolorist" so please be gentle on me-I promise I am working on it lol. For the icing on the cupcake I used pale plum and perfect plum, the cupcake wrapper is close to cocoa. The bella's dress is certainly celery and night of navy. For the shadowing I used sage shadow. The card base is perfect plum and the accent paper is Enchate.

My husband lost his job a little over a month ago and for the first few days it was nice...Then a few weeks went by and I realized that WE REALLY don't get along that well when we're together 24/7 lol! Since it's been a little tense in the house we currently live in I decided that I would make him something to let him know that he still means a lot to me. This candy box is just a 4 oz metal tin that I bought from specialty bottle. I covered it with paper from SU's retired enchante line. The heart stamp is from papertrey's sweet love set. I added the brad (su's build a brad) to give it a little "umph"...lol..I guess I can be honest..I was trying to use my adhesive eraser but instead ended up taking a big chunk of paper off and needed to hide it :) The ribbon is mellow moss taffeta.

I wanted this to be a valentine mailbox for my mom and dad but its kind of to "wedding-ish" I think. Don't get me wrong I'll probably still end up giving it to them anyway! This card is for my husband's 4 year old cousin. I must say I really need to work on my boy card making skills!! I don't usually make little kids cards because they don't really care that they're homemade and they usually trash them. I decided I would make an exception today :) BBBUUT I will say that I used the minimum for this card. The real red card base is your basic 4.25x5.5. The polka dot blue bayou paper is 3x4.5. The garden green strip is 4.5x0.75. For the main image I used the dump truck from SU's retired by land set that I colored in with markers. I matted it onto a scalloped basic grey rectangle. The ribbon is from that "M" store.

Yes today I'm a quarter of a century old! I just wanted to say I'm sorry I haven't posted the last few days, the RX the doc put me on has me literally sleeping 22 or more hours a day. To be honest I'd much rather be sleeping than having a seizure! So, since I don't have anything to post today I thought I would post the seven random facts about myself (Stampmouse tagged me a few weeks ago). So here we go:
1. My all time favorite color is purple-even though nothing on my side of the office is that color and my room is teal and chocolate.

2. My parents literally live less than two miles away and my grandmother lives right at two.

3. My DD hit the terrible two's a little early; and let me say she gives "terrible two's" a whole new meaning!

4. I found out I had a partial frontal-lobe seizure disorder two days after my 18th birthday.

5. This is gross but random-in H.S. I would go months without shaving my legs (that is if I didn't have a boyfriend)

6. I want to try for a second baby this summer.

7. When I get my own studio (hopefully soon) I want to paint it a deep lavender with white trim and white crown molding.

Again I'm sorry for the lack of postings and I really do appreciate all your warm comments!

First off I wanted to say thank you to all of you who left all those wonderful comments! On friday I had two seizures and was placed into the hospital. I'm still not feeling 100% but I felt better enough to make my daughter-who's second birthday was this past sat-a card. My leg is still bothering me but I know the Lord will help see me through this though time. This card is for the sketch challenge over at SCS. The paper is pretty in pink and loves me DSP. Winter Time Fun..

I finally had a chance to stamp today! For this card I folded a 8.25x4.25 sheet of sage shadow in half. I stamped the top half with snowflakes from my wintertime fun and snow flurries sets using versamark. The bottom half is a 2.25x4.25 strip of snowflake patterned paper from SU's wintergreen line. To divide the top from the bottom I used SU's soft sky ribbon. Ok, so for the main image I cut a 2.25x2.25 square of very vanilla and the stamped the kitty. I used Prismacolors to color the image. I then layered my image onto a 2.5" scalloped patterned paper square which is also matted onto a 3" scalloped square of soft sky. I really wish I could say I used my nestablilities for this card BBUUTT sadly they're under my tree! For the snow I used star dust stickles. I hope ya'll enjoy!

I just found out I made it into the sisterhood of the blogging stampers! Ok, for the getting to know me part: I've been married for almost 3 years to a great guy I met in high school. I have a beautiful 23 month old named Kylie, she's my buddy-for the next 10 years anyway :) My husband convinced me to start scrapbooking shortly after she was born. I kind of liked scrapbooking but it really wasn't that "fun" to me. I came across the card making section at my LSS and decided that I would probably enjoy that a lot more and I have. What I truly enjoy is altering things. My whole family lives within a two mile radius and I love that! I'm currently a full time student at Texas Women's University (and I don't love that!). I can honestly say that if it weren't for Kylie I would be a college drop out! I have one dog, a maltese, named Bailey. I finally decided to cut some rubber! I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of this set, but it was free so I'll use it! For this card I folded a 8.25x4 sheet of tempting turquoise in half. I then cut a 4x3.75 strip of patterned paper from the new Bali breeze series to mat onto the base. I stamped the flowers onto a 2x3 strip of very vanilla; to color them in I used my primacolors. For the popped up flower I just used my "poor man's dimensionals" aka the negative portions of my left over stamp rubber. The main image is mounted onto a 2.25x3.25 strip of old olive. For the half circles on the bottom left and top right corner I just used my 1/2" circle punch. The orange strips is 1.5x4 and the pomegranate strip is 1x2. ***OH OH OH I used the ticket corner punch for the top left and bottom right corners of the first layer of bali breeze.

YIPPEE, I just knew my sister was going to give me a nephew!! She just found out today that the bun in the oven is little Hayden Christan. To mark this happy day I decided to make my new buddy a little somethin' somethin' to put in his new nursery. I purchased the frame (3 for $1!!) at IKEA and covered it with baby boy words paper by creating keepsakes. The alpha is from my mickey font cricut cartridge. For the ribbon I used SU's white taffeta. The baby embellishments are by Mark Richards ***I used my tombo mono multi glue to adhere the paper to the frame.

Green Santa..

This is the second Santa that I painted for Kylie. I painted him an artichoke color because my first Santa was "creole" red and I didn't want matching Santa's. Try to ignore the fact that the stars aren't perfectly colored, they were a bugger to paint, I think I repainted them 3 or 4 times! I also wanted your honest opinion, I'm thinking about making a few more of these Santa's sell at a craft show, I would sell them for $25, do you think they would sell?

Here's the last two ornaments. For the top ornament I used the Mary image from the City of David stamp set, the bottom is Elyzbell's Mary and Joseph stamp. Both images are stamped onto very vanilla card stock and colored with prismacolors.

I hope you're not getting tired of seeing these because I made 2 more that I'm going to post tomorrow lol. For this ornament I stamped Santa onto a 1.75 square of watercolor paper. Santa's hat and coat are colored with ruby red, his cuffs are ranger liquid pears in silver pearl. I stamped the snowflakes in an off-brand silver ink pad. I used liquid applique for his beard and pom pom. I colored the background sage shadow.

Sorry no post yesterday, I was a busy bee at my mom's house. My mom for as long as I can remember has always made our Christmas decorations. She loves ceramics and has her own kiln. When I was a young girl I used to love painting stuff with her, but when I became a teenager I had "better" things to do. Last year, was Kylie's first Christmas, so I asked my mom if I could go with her to the ceramic shop to find something to make for Kylie. Needless to say I didn't finish my project. I forgot how much work went into cleaning and painting ceramics. Plus it had been almost 10 years since I had painted so it looked horrible anyways. So this year I decided that I wanted to give it one last try..I ended up painting two Santa's and a reindeer for Kylie. I went a lot slower with my painting-it took me almost 2 hours just to paint this Santa!

Debbie Olson is such an enabler! When I purchased my first package of tins, I said that would be my only package, well my car just so happened to drive me to recollections where my debit card purchased 6 more packages!! My husband will probably flip but these ornaments are SOOO cute and addicting!! For this ornament I used my prismacolors, odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump. I did want to mention that eclectic paperie has these tins for only $1.89 but they've been sold out for at least a week.

Well here in TX we're lucky if we get "TX snow" aka sleet around February. I stumbled across this ornament idea from Debbie Olson , you can see her blog HERE. For my ornament I used the snowman from the new Christmas line by studio g. I stamped him and the sentiment onto watercolor paper. I also embossed 3 snowflakes that you cant really see in the picture. For Mr. Snowman's hat and scarf I used wild wassabi and purely pomegranate. For the sky I used bashful blue. I found the tin's (maya road journey tin) at my lss; they're a wee bit pricey $4 for two!

I need a new camera!! I know I took at least 5 pictures of this recipe card, but when I went to dl them to my computer, 3 of them said they were an unrecognized file format-WHAT the HECK does that mean?!? Not to mention the fact that it's been taking horrible photos! Now back to my post; this is one of the ten pages for my sisters recipe book. My goal is to make 3 pages for the next three days. Wow, I've been such a bad blogger, I can't believe I've gone a whole week with out a single post! My husband and I were sitting around trying to figure out what we're going to do about Christmas this year-the company he works for is closing their doors Dec.15 ( merry Christmas!). Luckily we bought most of our gifts earlier in the year-I'm one of those crazy people who goes out the day after Christmas for all the sales. You really do get better deals than, you would find on black Friday! He decided that he wanted "us" to make some homemade gifts. I really stole this idea from Nicole Heady but hey, we're all allowed to "borrow" things now and then right? For this project I used a 8oz metal jar that I bought from specialty bottles. For the paper I just took a 8.5x11 sheet of real red cs and stamped it with the snowflake spot stamp set. I trimmed a strip to 1.75x11 and adhered it using modge podge. For the top I used my mega scalloped circle punch. The alpha is from my mickey font cricut cartridge-if you have a hobby lobby or walmart near by I suggest buying it there, they sell that cartridge for only $59, where everyone else sells it for $89-99. Inside the jar is chocolate cinnamon cocoa, mini marsh mellows and a cinnamon stick. My goal is to find a really cute basket at that "M" store and fill it with a red coffee mug that I bought at starbucks, the cocoa, and biscotti.

I'm in love with comsocricket's Gretel line, the papers are just so beautiful! For the main image i used the flower from SU's true friend set. I colored the flower in with my sage shadow and ruby red markers. I matted the main image onto choc chip textured card stock, that I cut with my giga scalloped oval punch. The ribbon is SU's chocolate taffeta.

My mother wanted me to make my sister a cookbook for Christmas. She wanted a semi non-traditional paper. She also wanted it to have a worn look. When we went to my LSS we stumbled upon the cosmocricket section, and fell in love with Gretel line. I've only started on the cover but when I get a few of the pages done I'll upload them too. The charms are made by around the block.

Look at what my darling postman brought me today!! The card base is a 8.5 x 4.25 strip of soft sky folded in half. The first layer is from SU's wintergreen collection and it measures 4x4. I then layered the snowflake print onto a 4x 2.25 strip of whisper white. The main image is stamped onto watercolor paper. For the little girl I colored her in with sage shadow, the tree is hunter green, the ornaments are real red. For the presents I used night of navy, rose red, pixi pink, lovely lilac and taken with teal. I used star dust stickles for the snow. OH before I forget I just happened to find this sketch on Moralia's Weblog.

For this card, I used one of my purely pomegranate love notes. The patterned paper is by paper heart. The main image is stamped onto watercolor paper. I used my real red marker to outline the Santa, and not quite navy for the dress. I then "colored it in" with my niji watercolor brush. I used my sage shadow marker for the shading.

This is for MOJO 10. The card base is an 8 x 4 sheet of buckaroo blue folded in half. I then layered a 3.75 sheet of recollections Maria's Favorite things on top. For the circle I matted a 4" circle of blue satin snowflakes onto a 4.25 circle of true thyme. The main image is from papertrey's believe set. I used prismacolors for his coat, face and present. I used ranger liquid pearls for his cuffs, hat, and bottom of his coat. The sentiment is by AMuse.

I know you can't see it in the picture, but I stamped the next to smallest snowflake stamp from the snowflake spot stamp set around the top of the paint can. I tried to die my white taffeta ribbon blue bayou, but it turned out a little lighter than I would have liked.

Nicole's Post-it-Note Holder

Orginally I was just going to give Nicole a journal as a kinda thanks for being there, but then I started thinking Christmas is just around the corner! So I decided to make a beaded pen and a post-it-note holder to go along with her journal-a complete package- and within my budget. The composition book was only $0.25 at office depot (back in Aug), the acrylic pic frame is $0.97 at walmart and I would say I used about $4 in paper. Not to shabby!

Please be gentle with me; I know my water coloring is lacking compared to most-I mean all! This card is your standard 4.25 x 5.5. The very vanilla layer is embossed with my textile cuttlebug embossing folder. The celery layer is from SU's Wintergreen DSP and the polka dot paper is SU's cerise dsp. For the main image I stamped my Santa onto watercolor paper. I used my real red and basic black markers to outline the image, then took the niji watercolor brush to "color" him in. I think I might have gone a little "liquid applique" happy but in the end it turned out fairly well I think.

For this journal I used SU's retired loves me dsp. Right before it retired I bought like 4 packages, so I finally decided it was about time I started using it up! The ribbon is SU's new tempting turquoise grosgrain ribbon. I ran a line of diamond stickles next to the ribbon and dots of it on the crest and crown. The alpha's, crest and crown are all from cricut's alphalicious cartridge. ***I bought my cartridge at Hobby lobby, that's the only place I could find it, and H.L's cricut products are always cheaper than that "M" store.

Haunting Prismacolors!

So I decided to visit the inky antics website to see what ink they suggest using for prismacolors. They said to use archival ink; I quickly drove up to that "M" store to buy some. Worked like a CHARM, no bleeding, no nothing it was PERFECT! The pencils I used for this card are: marine green (mellow moss look a like), Indigo blue (night of navy look a like), black, ultramarine blue ( brilliant blue look a like), sunburst yellow ( summer sun look a like). If you're wondering how I figured out all these look a likes, well, I can honestly say-I DIDN'T!-a lovely lady on splitcoast did all the work for me, you can see her post here. The basic black card base is 4.25 x 4.25 and the accent card stocks are mellow moss and not quite navy.

I had a really hard time with the stazon-it kept running, even after I let it dry all afternoon!

I received this AWFUL email early this morning from recollections-my ONLY local scrapooking store-that they're closing the first of the year. Supposedly they were bought out by Michael's. No offense mikes but your scrapbooking section leaves much to be desired!! I seriously don't know what I'm going to do!
***I called recollections to get the low down, apparently they're a Michael's company; mikes decided to close down their recollections store's so that they could focus only on Michael's. AND GET THIS-this is super annoying- THEY (Michael's) are NOT going to expand their "scrapbooking" section, they're going to leave their stores AS IS (thats a buch of bunk!!!)

So, I figured it was about time my bella's saw some sun light :) The card base is a 4.5" square of close to cocoa. I layered a 4"square of groovy guava on top. The close to cocoa scalloped border was created with my accent essentials cartridge, that's layered with a 2" rectangle of soft sky dsp. For the main image, I stamped my bella with stazon on whisper white card stock. Her shirt, purse and shorts are colored in with my ink pad and blender pen. For her hair I used my so saffron marker, her body blush blossom marker. The dog is-again markers-close to cocoa and creamy caramel. Both sets of bows (bella and pup) are soft sky.

I'm so happy this set finally got to see some ink! The colors for this card are: purely pomegranate, wild wassabi, and Sahara sand. The card measures 5x5. The purely pomegranate square (4.5x4.5) is stamped with the french script background stamp. The wild wassabi scalloped square is an accent from the accent essentials cricut cartridge. For the sheep I used liquid applique-you just fill in whatever you want and heat it with your heat tool. I bought mine at Joann.

I made this for my husband's co-worker Janie. Her last day is Friday, so he asked me to make her a thank you/good bye card for her. For this card I started with a 10 x 5 sheet of chocolate chip cs and folded it in half. I then took the doodle stamp from doodle this and inked it up with my white craft pad, and stamped it onto my card base. The blue bayou polka dot cs, is 4.5 x 4.5. The river rock cs measures 4 x 4. For the main image I cut a 3.5 x 3.5 square of whisper white card stock. The roses are: blue bayou, buckaroo blue, and brocade blue. For the leaves I just used river rock. ***I almost forgot, this is a case of lesarapp card.

I made this card, for my mom's 48th birthday-I'm sure she loves the fact that I just let the world know that :) For this card I started out by taking a yard of white taffeta ribbon and dying with my pale plum re-inker. I then took a 8.5 x 4.25 strip of pale plum cs and folded it in half. After doing that, I layered a 4.16 square of the moss designer paper from Enchante. The stripe paper is 4 x 2. For the main image I matted (1/8" mat) very vanilla to pale plum.

For this card I started out with a 6x3 strip of kraft card stock, then folded it in half. I then took the polka dot stamp from my polka dot and paisley stamp set and inked it up with versamark. After stampin the polka dots on my card base I cut a 3x1 1/2 strip of pink passion card stock.
The ribbon hearts are inked with pink passion and stamped onto the card stock; I added stickles to the tip of the hearts for a little added "bling". After adhering the pink passion cs to my kraft base, I added the pretty in pink taffeta ribbon. The main image is 1x 1 1/4 piece of very vanilla. I colored the body with my close to cocoa marker, her shirt is colored in with pink passion. I used stickles to outline the image. I also wanted to thank Beate for her great picture taking tips!

I made this card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I started out by cutting a 2.5 inch rectangle of very vanilla, I then stamped my witchy tricker treater in jet black staz-on. I colored her in with SU markers. Her star and the lining of her hat both have stickles. I then took a sheet of Junkitz whimsical halloween and put it into my cricut. I cut out the closest thing to a scalloped circle-which ended up being a flower really. I then took a sheet of chocolate chip and cut out a smaller circle to fit into the "flower"; I then stamped it with my sanded background stamp. The certainly celery "picture frame" was also cut out from my cricut. The card base is a 4 x 8 sheet of really rust folded in half.

Ashlea's New Trash Can

My cousin Ashlea fell in love with my "altered" trash can, and asked if I would make her one that was blue/green to go into her new bathroom. For her trash can I used Jim Holtz adirondack alcohol inks in: stream and lettuce.

Alcohol Canister

I'm so addicted to alcohol inks now!! These were just plain jane metal top canisters, until my alcohol inks got a hold of them. For the canisters and the trash can I used the colors: wild plum, raisin and cranberry.

"A" Coaster Box

Ok, to start: all the paper used for this box is from SU's fall flowers DSP collection. For this box I took 4 coasters and covered them with the "flowerdy" paper (again I used my tombo multi-mono). For the front coaster I took a sheet of the striped paper and cut it to 2 x 4. I used my Giga scalloped punch to punch out the really rust flowered paper. The regular circle is my mega circle punch. The letter "A" is basic grey chipboard covered with SU! really rust craft pad. The ribbon is SU! kraft taffeta (man I love that stuff!!) it is beautiful in real life!!

SUPPLIES: Ink: really rust (craft) Paper: fall flowers DSP Accessories: giga scalloped circle punch, mega circle punch, kraft taffeta ribbon, bind it all.

Alcohol Inks Tutorial

Supplies: Jim Holtz Alcohol Ink Applicator, Jim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Blending Solution,
Adirondack Alchohol Inks , Non-porus Item (i.e Glossy card stock, metal, plastic). Here I used a plastic trash container.

Step 1: The Alcohol Ink applicator comes with a strip of felt that you need to put on the bottom of the applicator. Once you've placed the felt on the applicator, take your inks of choice and blot them onto the felt-make sure the colors dont run together.

Step 2. Take the applicator and start "stamping" the color onto your item (remember to "stamp" down in a different direction each time).

Once you cover your item you can either leave it like it is:

-OR-
you can take the blending solution and add it to your applicator. With the blending solution on the applicator stamp it around your item, like you did with the ink. This gives it more of a marbled look.

Step 3. Let it dry and you're done!

Address Book

I'm getting a head start on my stocking stuffers! I made this address book for my MIL who's favorite color is of course BLUE! All I did to make this was take a plain sheet of chipboard and cut it into two 3.5x5.5 rectangles. I covered both sides with coordinating paper from SU's double sided DSP-porcelain print. I know some people use modgpodge to cover their chipboard, but I found that using my tombo mono-multi works just as good and is a lot less messy! For the front I punched the large photo corner from blue bayou card stock, and then I punched the scalloped circle from the procelain prints paper. The main image is a 13/8 cicle punch of whisper white cs. I stamped the letter "v" from my whimsical alpha lower in blue bayou and then sponged river rock and certainly celery around it. The ribbon on the front and around the coils are SU! blue bayou double stitched and certainly celery narrow organdy. Well now I have to make my hr drive to biological chemistry (what fun!)

Season of Joy

For some reason all the pictures I take of my cards always turn out too dark. I've tried everything I can think of, if you have any good suggestions please let me know! Now, for this card I used a 41/2 x 9 sheet of bravo burgundy to make the card base. The second layer is a 4x4 square of vintage ornaments from basic grey. I used my cuddlebug d'vine swirls folder for the basic grey pine strip, which measures 31/2 x 1. The main image is 3 x 2, the stamps are from the season of joy set. For the christmas tree I used old olive and summer sun for the star. The background "snowflakes" are stamped in soft sky. For the sky and ground I just used my sponge daubers and SU! chalk.

Christmas Book

I made this with my new bind it all. On each tab I'm going to write a family memembers name. On the index cards I'll write their christmas list, this way when I go shopping I'll have everyone's wish list on hand! All the designer paper is basic grey fruitcake, the ribbon is kraft taffeta, burgundy grosgrain, and target dollar spot green grosgrain. The coils for the bind it all are zutter chocolate 3/4" (please ignore the fact that I binded it wrong!).

This is my submission for CC132 over at SCS. For the main image I stamped the pumpkin and two leaves from Fall Whimsy with Stazon onto watercolor paper. To color them in I used markers and a blender pen. For the grass and sky I used my sponge daubers and chalk.
